Greg Salmeri and Laurie Resnick met in a Newport Beach greenhouse in 1984. Each owned an interior plantscape company doing similar work. They both began their businesses while attending college, and shared the same values and world view, so they decided to merge their companies. The new business named Associated Group, founded in 1986, was located in Orange County, CA. The company provided interior landscape design, installation and maintenance.  The pair decided to grow and develop new products and services to include exterior landscape design, installation and maintenance as well as offering commercial holiday décor. 

In 2001, Greg and Laurie purchased the original Rolling Greens Nursery located on Jefferson in Culver City, CA. This location provided plants, containers and accessories to the trade. Rolling Greens has expanded over the years with two additional locations on Beverly in Mid City and on Mateo in Arts District DTLA. All stores provide a wide range of home and garden products and services to the trade and retail alike. 

In 2017, Greg and Laurie realigned their companies and brands to better serve their customers. The company is now using the Rolling Greens name for its retail and horticultural divisions while keeping the Associated Group name for its holiday display division. The two have spent 34 years together as business partners. They have traveled the world bringing beautiful products to Rolling Greens. Greg has eaten enough chocolate to cause a worldwide shortage! They still lunch together most days and have Sunday dinner as a family. Laurie’s daughter Sasha joined the company in 2017, as Events Director as well as chef and sommelier. Sasha’s culinary and wine experience will create the next chapter in the Rolling Greens story.

The newest addition to the brand is an online store launched August of 2020. This store features the best of us!
