Sweet, Sweet Dulce de Leche!

This week we're craving sweets! We pulled one of our favorite books from our Pantry, Caramel by Carole Bloom and made some delicious Dulce de Leche Sandwich Cookies (also referred to as Alfajores.)  Home made dulce de leche sandwiched between two crumbly shortbread cookies never tasted so good!

Mmm, mmm! We're still licking our slightly sticky fingers. Visit our Los Angeles store to find Caramel and other amazing cookbooks. Happy Baking!

A Whisper of Chocolate & Orange

"A good scone is hard to find, even in a food capital like New York City. Many tend to be too cakey or too dry, and almost all of them are oversized. Not these scones, folks. They have a moist, crumbly texture, can be eaten in four or five bites, and come with a bonus-- they're dotted with bittersweet chocolate & a whisper of orange."

We were already drooling over the decadent picture of these Orange-Scented Chocolate Chunk Scones; after taking a closer look at the recipe, things got pretty serious and we had to share! We thought these would be great with a chai latte on a lovely morning, or better yet, bake up  a batch up  for your Mom this Mother's day (which is right around the corner!)

Find this recipe & more  from Homemade with Love by Jennifer Perillo in our Pantry at our Los Angeles location. Come shop with us to discover even more unique cookbooks waiting to be cracked open and put to use in  your kitchen! Happy Baking!

Spring Lemon Tartlets

The first day of Spring is this Thursday, March 20th! With citrus trees bearing fruit already, we couldn't wait to break out an amazing adapted recipe from Pastry: A Master Class for Everyone by Richard Bertinet and put it to the test! Lemon Tartlets are dainty, but have a flavor that will reawaken your taste buds; just as the new blooms of Spring are beginning to unfold.

Seriously delicious looking! We can't wait to get our hands dirty trying to make these lovely tartlets. Perfect for a spring tea party, no? What would you pair with these bite-sized beauties?
