Our Los Angeles Summer Marketplace.

On Saturday we hosted our first ever pop-up shop event, the Los Angeles Summer Marketplace! It was an incredible afternoon filled with some of the most talented individuals we've ever met! Our vendors brought some really unique products which were displayed throughout gorgeous booths & they endured the warm Summer heat like troopers. We had an amazing turnout with tons customers that we had the privilege of chatting with! Here's a closer look at the Los Angeles Summer Marketplace.

One of our favorite details of the event was the Selfiebooth created by our Visual Team! They painted vintage frames & created living walls with moss & assorted succulents. The wall was a fun backdrop for visitors who stopped by to snap a #selfie against the vivid wall. The best part? The living frames are for sale! And... You can still stop by & strike a pose!

We completed the decor with hanging terrariums and assorted grab'n'go's fresh from the arrangement bar! We had the cutest mix with mini glass and clean white summer containers; all completed with vivid succulents, of course!

Fresh cut florals were an absolute must! We created our own small arrangements in mini mason jars that captured the essence of Summer with vivid florals that were added to vendor tables! Illusiones Florals also brought an outstanding selection that mesmerized the crowd! We couldn't stop gazing at the stunning sunflowers!

A Perfect Summer Tablescape

Radiant heat, flourishing succulents, a small breeze, and a vivid palette of colors. The signs of Summer are ripe with a carefree ambience and we couldn't wait for the excuse to take our entertaining outside onto the patio. With our Pantry  stocked with dainty details + cool colors, we knew it was the perfect time to put a new spin on Summer with the perfect tablescape for any summer soiree!

IMG_4112 copyIMG_4139 copy

Soft hues in cool colors set the tone for our entire tablescape. Succulents, worn votives, and soft details were a definite must we knew we had to incorporate!

IMG_4115 copyIMG_4128 copy

Mix and match cool browns, teals & blues, white, and grey to stay on the cool side of the color wheel. We layered a striped linen between plates and tucked the back underneath the bottom plate for extra appeal. Votives make the cutest containers! Pot succulents and top with white pebbles for extra pop.

IMG_4151 copy IMG_4157 copyIMG_4168 copyIMG_4161 copy

These tarnished grey votives were a perfect match. Amazing texture, right?!  We incorporated  these along with a creamy white votive that has a reflective, seashell-like finish. For the larger succulents we added a few larger white accent stones.

Slightly tarnished silverware is the perfect addition. They have just enough wear to be elegant & sophisticated, but also carry a whimsical Summer feel that is a necessary addition for a complete tablescape. Votives are mixed and matched along the table, lovely glassware is added, and you're ready to celebrate Summer!

While we love a bright, vivid palette for summer, we were in love with this calming tablescape that would literally set the table for a sophisticated summer event. Succulents, lovely votives, and captivating colors: what else can we ask for?! We hope you found some inspiration (and find a reason to get outside)!

Our Egg-citing DIY!

We love to get our hands a bit dirty and get creative when the chance pops up. What better chance to unleash our inner craftiness than by putting an innovative spin on the generic Easter egg?  Simply dying Easter eggs just isn't enough; we took Easter egg decorating to the next level with gilded perfection, painted expression, and a new take on the chalkboard craze. Read on for more!

We got together with a couple dozen eggs, some amazing Raspberry Mojitos, probably too much crafting supplies, and a ton of inspiration for this DIY.

Itty bitty details, like color seeping through cracked eggshells and bits of gold leaf stuck to color-stained fingertips, kept us inspired throughout our egg-citing crafting get together.

Mod Podge // A Few Brushes // Gold Leaf // Eggs

1.  Brush a little Mod Podge into your egg  // 2. Take a bit of gold leaf with your brush and and gently press it on your egg in random areas // 3. Brush another light layer of Mod Podge over the area for extra staying power; So easy!

mcIMG_8250 copyIMG_8260copy copy

Chalkboard Spray Paint // Pastels (Colors of your Choice)

1. Cover your egg with Chalkboard Spray Paint for an opaque, black background that will hold the texture well, let dry for about 5-10 minutes // 2. Pick 2-3 chalk colors in a monochromatic palette, (we obviously love grey), and rub over your eggs vertically // 3. Mix and match the colors to create a textured, modern egg that stretches beyond the standard chalkboard!

pe IMG_8207 copy IMG_8260 copy

Acrylic Craft Paint // Puffy Paint (Metallic & Glitter) // Sharpies // Embellishments

1.  Paint your egg in color of your choice // 2. Mod podge of stick embellishments of your choice on your egg, Choosing either cool or warm color palette for all elements of this DIY helps keep it modern // 3. Puffy paint, glitter, sketch, and paint your way to an awesome mixed media Easter egg!

We experimented a ton with watercolor, decoupage, gilding, and painting; here's some of our faves! The possibilities are truly endless. Happy DIY-ing & Happy Easter from all of us at Rolling Greens!
