In search of the perfect cocktail for Father's Day? We turned to our trusty Pantry and uncovered a recipe from the book, The American Cocktail, straight from the Editors of Imbibe Magazine. If your Dad loves a simple classic, this book is the definite must have! We decided to whip up an Old Fashioned with a twist: brandied cherries. This cocktail is spot on to win over Dad!

Our Pantry: Hot and Spicy Bourbon

Thanksgiving has come and gone in delicious splendor…Whether you are putting up your tree or spending another night enjoying the company of loved ones we think you deserve to unwind! Kick back, relax, and enjoy this delicious Hot & Spicy Bourbon recipe!


Bourbon has a good smoky flavor that comes from the charred oak barrels that it is aged in. The hot, sticky Kentucky air speeds up the aging process giving it a smooth and mellow taste. In this hot-toddy recipe the star anise, cinnamon and cloves accentuate the taste of the bourbon. The orange and honey provide the classic accompanying flavors. Mix and pour into your favorite mug. Stir with a cinnamon stick and enjoy!

Pumpkin Party Eats!

Our annual pumpkin carving party was a hit!

Together with our extended Rolling Greens family we had fun, decorated some amazing pumpkins, and had good eats! Our menu consisted of some of the best Fall recipes and cocktails from our favorite cookbooks.  Of course we had to share!!

For the main course we served up a super delicious Turkey Chili from One Pan Two Plates by Carla Snyder. This terrific cookbook is a compilation of 70 recipes designed for a weeknight party of two. Focusing on reduced prep time and eliminating the usual sink full of dishes, this cookbook serves up simple, complete, and truly delicious meals.

What goes perfectly with Chili? Corn Bread of course!! This recipe for Double-Corn Corn Bread from Flour by Joanne Chang takes this Fall staple to the next level. From the kitchen at Boston’s Flour Bakery + Café, Chang brings us 150 recipes such as a Milky Way Tart and a Dried Fruit Focaccia plus essential baking tips for the home baker.
