Step into the world of garden design with Jeannene, our talented Design Consultant based out of Rolling Greens Studio City.

Here, she shares her expert tips for crafting breathtaking gardens and dives into the journey that ignited her passion for plants and creativity.

How did your passion for gardening and plants develop?

When I was a young child, my mother gave me some Zinnia seeds, and we planted them in the backyard. I would rush home after school to check on their progress in my flower bed. I spent a lot of time in the trees in our back garden, nurturing my obsession with plants and flowers from an early age. When I was old enough to work, I joined a well-known nursery in Corona del Mar, where my love for plants flourished.

At 40 years old, I quit my corporate job and began working as a garden designer's assistant. When she moved out of state, I took over and then ran my own floral and garden design business for about 10 years.

Now, I enjoy gardening for myself and cherish every moment of it!

Can you share some insights or tips for creating a beautiful garden?

Collect plants and pots that you love, and make sure to research their specific care needs. Create stunning views from inside your home by strategically placing plants. For example, featuring a climbing rose outside a bedroom window adds both beauty and fragrance. Consider fragrant plants for outdoor seating areas or patios to enjoy their aroma indoors. Allow your garden to evolve naturally over time, and shop for plants in different seasons to maintain year-round interest.

What services do you offer as a Design Consultant?

I recommend interior and exterior design solutions either by meeting clients at the store or conducting home visits to understand their specific needs. I also provide guidance and oversee projects from conception to installation.
